Tinkers Lakeside Lodge

The main area is split level and the kitchen, dining area and lounge are open plan. A highly efficient fireplace heats the entire upper level during winter, and no heaters are required.

Chunky wooden beams on ceiling and above all doorways bring a natural element to the lodge.

The design of Tinkers Lakeside Lodge is in such a way that it is cool in summer (no air conditioning required) and warm in winter. All rooms have fans.

The kitchen is large with Caesar stone tops, a built in under counter fridge and a large gas stove. The scullery, behind the kitchen is also large with Caesar stone counters and built in cupboards.

Concertina doors open onto the large patio which has a built in braai and bar with under counter bar-fridge facilities.

Copper woven weaver nest lights give an incredibly beautiful and romantic atmosphere. Fans on the patio are seldom used as a soft breeze off the water usually cools the area sufficiently.

The position of Tinkers Lakeside Lodge is perfect. Morning sun filters the patio and in the warm afternoons the patio is shaded.

Downstairs, there are columns with lights and built in cabinets in the entertainment room. This is a childs refuge with cable TV, ping pong and snooker tables.

All main bedrooms have stunning views on to the dam, the upper level rooms have private patios and the lower level bedrooms are large with split levels.

All the bedrooms have private bathrooms with baths and extra large showers (3 are circular).

The staircase was designed by one of Johannesburgs top metal artists. The unusual design has a beautiful flowing shape and is a true sculpture.
